How to block crochet squares evenly

What you need
Completed cotton squares, water, pins, blocking board. Keep a ruler, scissors, and scrap material nearby. Use all equipment according to its manufacturer instructions.
Make it step by step
- Measure each square after finishing and choose a target dimension close to the average size.
- For washable fibers, dampen lightly according to the yarn label. Lay the square flat.
- Pin corners first, then the midpoint of each side, keeping the corners square and all edges straight.
- Leave in place until fully dry. Unpin and stack flat; do not overstretch elastic yarn.
Check your work
Look for even tension, secure thread ends, and clean edges. If the sample puckers or pulls out of shape, loosen the tension and test on scrap before continuing.
